I am a housewife. If that bores you, sorry. I would like to tell you a little about myself, but I have these strange thoughts about the About Me sections on these blogs.

I grew up in Arkansas. It is a beautiful place...with some of the most backwards people in the world. I love the land. The country is amazing, and the sky goes on forever. I grew up near Little Rock and was a pretty normal person. I had many friends and had a lot of fun. But then I got married and sort of moved on. We had three wonderful children together. I later divorced my husband and changed a lot about myself and my appearance. Once I changed I realized just how backwards everyone was. Even my own family tried to avoid me.

So, I remarried a few years and a few states later. My wonderful husband is a man from Egypt (isn't that so cool? He grew up near the pyramids!). Once I left Arkansas I realized that the people there were only there. Nebraska and California were much more open to my appearance and my way of life. So now I am the super country chick in southern California, and loving my life.

I cook...all the time. The only thing I do almost as much as cook is read. I love to read. I will read anything, but I love classic fiction. I have to admit, I hate romance novels. I can't figure out why, but I just don't like them. My mom loved them though.

So I guess I opened this blog to talk about my cooking, and my reading. I am home most of the time and do not feel the need to make many friends, so I will blow off all my thoughts on you guys!

I don't know about you guys, but I had a great Thanksgiving. I made too much food and was the happiest person in the world. It was my husband's first Thanksgiving, so I went all out. I don't like boxed and canned foods much, so everything was homemade. I made homemade cranberry sauce for the first time because everyone always told me it is super hard. I think they just don't want to spend the time doing it. It is super easy. I made three pies with homemade pie crusts I found on another blog here. It all turned out wonderful. I even cooked my hand. I have to admit, it turned out a little overdone, but is healing pretty fast. I might add a picture of that. I didn't pull my pan out far enough to check the cake, and lifted my hand into the top of the oven. The cake was great though!

For only the second time making a turkey, it turned out pretty good too. Slightly ugly, but I am not one for making food look wonderful. Unless it is pie. I have to make my pies pretty!
